Flooding and driving through moving water

Does the rule 'don't drive through moving water' apply to Jeeps?

Does it depend on the tires, i.e. the tread?

Absolutely.....it is not a function of traction.... it is a function or "floatability"...... if the water is deep enough to push you up off your ability to stay down... you are SCREWED......even in a Jeep......4 inches of water crossing your path can push virtually any 4 wheeled vehicle sideways....
