Frameless top for Winter?

So here's my issue,

My jeep needs a new top and I live in Michigan. It currently has the OEM softop. Im just wondering.if I.should get one before winter or after and if I should stick to the OEM soft top or get a frameless one. I really don't have the top on during the summer except when it rains I put just the top up but leave the doors and windows out.

My frameless top has been fine for two winters. Just don't let the snow get really piled up. Same would go for a framed soft top. If anything the frameless top does better because it's supported by the roll cage and not a flimsy soft top frame.

I have no experience w/ the frameless soft top.
OTOH, my OEM soft top has held up VERY well after a few storms that piled up ~18" of heavy, wet snow loads. FWIW, I use a poly tarp (8'X10') bungee'd over the top (and windows) when I expect heavy snow or icing. It makes clean up a snap. :-D

YMMV, and invariably will...
