front driveline

Ok so I hear my front driveline go tonight... I think the knuckle u joint(s) up by the transfer case gave out on me so now I've got a low vibration when under power and (LOUD enough to make a difference) sound when I let off the gas. What can I do? Do I gotta pull the driveline and take it to a machine shop to get the u joints pressed??? Help... '89 YJ

Do it yourself,it's not that hard to do. 8 bolts or 8 nuts and the drive shaft is down. For the price they will charge you ,you can buy a new drive shaft.
If you never done it yet look it up on youtube or google it. If it's the front you can drop it and still drive around.

Simple tools neddle nose to remove the clips or a screwdriver and ballpeen hammer depending on the type of clips. Use an old socket the size of the cap and tap it out. Like the above post go watch it on youtube. Takes 20 minutes to get both joints replaced once the shaft is out. So with a couple of beers and a neighbor boring you about his house or something and the u-joints your talking an hour.
