Thumbs up Gearing help??

Hi.

Im getting ready to regear and im having trouble deciding between 4.56 and 4.88's.
I have a 2000 tj with a i-6, nv3550, np231(i think) and 35"tires. It'll be offroad every weekend(mostly mud) and driven on the highway 6 days a week (75mph).

from your experience, what would you recommend and why?

Thanks for any help,
-Matt

If you are going to do it. Just go ahead with the 4.88's. There is not enough of a difference between 4.56 and 4.88 to notice. Especially with you having a manual.

im tempted to say 4.88...but you like mud where wheelspeed is important...

there isn't a huge difference though, like Jack said.

I have 35's and 4.56's. daily driver. Does okay, 4.88's would be okay too. No major hills on my drive, for the most part I put it in 5th and it stays there.
