Whoa! haha that's crazy! Only a Jeep could handle all that for sure! :D Ran it though a van?? Dang! Sounds like you have one hell of a Jeep! :punk: And how do they do when they have been completely soaked on the inside? I was told by a friend that they are pretty much made to be hosed down on the inside, is it true? Did the rain cause any damage?

not for a while.....my dogs take a lot of my money when one is a 16 year old wiener dog with cancer and the other is a 1 & a half year old rescue beagle with issues......but I'd like to have a small lift when finances allow
And hubster allows

Well...

although a fairly reasonable deduction...I wouldn't count it as a rule. Mine was modified for appearance. I can tell that it has not been abused just from my mechanical savvy from four decades of building and rebuilding used vehicles. There are "tells" that most knowledgeable mechanics can point to with relative ease. Be judicious...don't be afraid to ask for help. The only "dumb" question is the one you DON"T ask! Good luck. Ron

Lucky me the blackhawk has the gift of vinyl seats so it wasn't that bad after the rain but my butt was soaked but I didn't care it gave me another reason to go topless and doorless that week. As for sinking it when I went mudding.... I has about 5 inches of mud and water on the floorboards. I still had the rugs. And yes I pulled the plugs and hosed its down. As for the Honda she jump my lane and slammed on the breaks... Guess The blackhawk was hungry that day. Best vehicle I have ever owned I love it and will never sell it. You know what they ask what happens when it breaks..... We build it better!!

I've been told not to buy a Jeep that has already been lifted because most likely the last owner ran the p*ss out of it. What do you guys think? I can see where it could be try but it may also not be
Yes and know I a few friends that have nice lifted jeeps but are scared to run them offroad. I also know some friends that have lifted rigs and take them to hell and back.

Ya, I mean it would be nice to get one that is already lifted so I don't have to mess with it but I'd rather not have one that's been to he'll and back haha. But maybe I'll just get one with nothing done to it so when I do modify it, I can say that I was the one who actually did it :)

Something else I've heard from people that may make the Jeep less top heavy, off set rims. Anyone know anything about that? Idk if that is what it is actually called but that's the only thing I know it as
Most aftermarket wheels have less back spacing than your OEM. Offset is just just the center of the wheel where it mounts +/- (in or out)
Most of us will look for 4.5 or even 3.75 of backspacing to push the wheels out further to fit wider/bigger tires.
I'm running wheel spacers which do the same thing.
But yes it will make the jeep more stable with the wider stance :)

Good luck finding a Jeep...i bought mine off craigslist too...got a great deal on it and was actually glad it had all the lift and tires already. I will customize it as it gets older but she is a head turner now :) plus it came with all the extras..winch, soft top, bikini top and even an electric winch for removing the hardtop solo. Ready for my first offroad ride with her this weekend with my guys (two boys and hubby) and some other jeepers..
