Glass Polishing

Any tips how to polish glass? I have some scratches in my windshield I,d like to remove.

Gotta be very careful with windshields, polishing removes some of the glass, thus changing the optics.... don't want to be driving around looking through the wrong prescription....

Yeah no kidding.
Down here in NC there is some really weird chemical in the air.
It etched my windshield glass, so now, whenever I drive into the sunlight it becomes super shiny in which it's multiplied by all the doughnut wheeled vehicles rear windshields.
And I've got numerous scratches. And on the inside I've got all sorts of bug juices on my windshield.
I use comet to get it off.
And I also use Comet on the outside of my windshield to help make it somewhat better
Make Sure Everyone is Dead within hearing and sight range. Only then, you can say any area is cleared.

Here is a kit from Eastwood.

It's no different than buffing paint...You just have to be very careful about the amount of heat that you put into the glass.
