Going Beyond the Grill

Looks as though Hummer is getting around to copying more about the wrangler than just the grill....

Quote:
The North American International Auto Show, held each year in Detroit, is a chance for automakers to show off their goods. It opens to the public Jan. 19; the media get an early look starting Sunday, but many automakers could not wait for the show and released their models early. Here are a few:
Hummer HX concept: When it comes to rumbling off road, this smaller Hummer could challenge Jeep if it were ever built as a production vehicle.

The HX concept has two removable doors and roof panels. Fender flares can be taken off easily to maneuver through a tight spot along a rocky trail. The beefy vehicle is smaller than a Hummer H3.

I'd like to see this thing thats supposed to compete with the jeep. I wanna know specs.

correction I googled it here are some pics... still IFS but looks pretty badass compared to the other weak models hummer has come out with lately. doubtful this thing could compete with at jeep though. well... maybe on power. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/08/d...er-hx-concept/

i like it.. but i think it is too much for a on the go tough wilderness vehicle.. i bet i will see tons of it in here in CA.. bunch of rich kids cruising around the clubs in the summer.

It looks cool, but it has the Hummer curse...IFS... the reason jeep kicks their A$$ is because we still have solid front axles. when will they ever learn that seven slot grills mean nothing offroad.

I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but I like it, and if hummer ever did really make it, I would prolly consider purchasing one.

I like it. It looks like they took a Hummer, a Jeep and an FJ Cruiser and mixed it all into one.

With the doors, top, and fenders off it kinda looks like the Warthog on Halo.
