Good deal?

Hey guys I am brand new to the community. I just sold my car and am looking to get a jeep wrangler. I saw a 03 Rubicon that looks to be in great shape with 119k miles on it for 12,900. Is that a good deal. I have searched the sea of jeeps on autotrader and I keep coming back to this one. Is the mileage an issue? Is there anything I need to look for with the Rubicon that would tell me to steer clear of it. Thanks in advance.

Thumbs down

My 2-cents!

100K+ on the motor, I'd steer clear. If is straight drive, it's probably due for a clutch replacement SOON

Use history

2 more cents , some peoples 100000 miles are like 20000 miles and other peoples 20000 miles are like 500000 miles. Just look for rust under carriage damage /abuse and excessive new black paint paint coverup . If its been serviced and taken care of could be a deal but on the other hand if it is a well groomed DOG it will be a nightmare. Try to get someone with knowledge about vehicles to help you look. Good luck.

Another side of the coin....I have an '04 Sport with almost 155K on it. I did have clutch and waterpump replaced in the last couple years. I have done some minor "MODS".
IMO if it has been taken care of, is mostly stock or all stock, and everything is in "good repair" I would not hesitate on it, but would try and get the price down just out of general principal. To me that sounds like a "fair price" but depends on what you think is fair and shape of vehicle.
My '04 doesn't use oil, and I wouldn't take 10K for it. And is only a "Sport" instead of a Rubi'.

Edit: water pump and clutch less than $750 FOR BOTH COMBINED.

are you set on a rubi? seems like you could get a newer sport model with less miles for $12,900. personally I would not buy a vehicle with 100,000 plus miles on it but that's just me.
