Good Deal or Bad Deal?

I am looking to buy my first jeep wrangler as a second vehicle for the summer and I am seriously looking at two completely different jeeps. I thought other Jeep owners could give me advice.
The first is a 1994 6 cly. that is being sold by a dealer for 5,000. Thats as low as I can get them. It doesnt have any rust and looks like it has been worked on recently. It has a hard top and 160,000 miles.
The second jeep is 1992 6 cly. for sale by a private owner for around 3,000.
It has a small amount of rust. It has 138,000 miles. May need a little bit of work. But nothing major.
Both have hard tops and are almost the same color inside and out. I m not a mechanic but anything over 3,000 is a push. ??????

id go with the 92, only 2 years older, considerably less mileage, and almost half price. Just get it checked out by a mechanic or at least a friend with really good knowledge of auto mechanics.
Look up the blue book value too. Make sure your not overpaying.

^right on. 5 grand is a lot for a yj, especially with that mileage. i'd go 92, and talk them down a little to.

make sure when looking at yj's check these key rust areas, lift carpet and look at front floor boards, rocker panels in and out. rear of frame, and windshield frame, and rear body mounts. its bound to have some rust, but make sure its not rotted through
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president."
