Got stopped by a jeeper copper.

Well tonight on my way to the local mudd pit to meet up with my friend's i was going down a small 2 lane highway. The speed limmit was 45 i bwas doing about 55 and some idiot in a PTloser was tailgating me the whole way. Me ignoring it just keeps on going (he wants to hit my bumper and ruin his whole friont end by all means do it) Bout 5 miles from the pit a cop pulls out and goes on the loud speeker for both of us to pull over. PT pulls over and I pull in front of him Cop goes up to the guy in the PT cruiser throws him a reckless driving citation and some other pretty bad ticket (forget what it was) and sends him on his way. Next he comes up to me. And im thinking he is going to bust me for my inspection because i havent gotten it inspected yet. He comes up and aks's me what year my jeep is and whats done to it. Turns out he has a TJ unlimited. Sat there and taked jeeps for a couple of min and than went on to the mudhole... Told him about the forum as well said hes going to check it out.... Pretty cool night though tore up the mudpit and showed up a ford.

I hate people like that! I had a cop (guy I know but havent talked to in a long time) had PD over to the house for a disturbance and he pointed over to my jeep and I thought he was going to give me some trouble over something and he was like, Nice Jeep, I've got a black 04 ... Fun times.

Tailgaters are the reason I miss my dodge. "I brake for tailgaters" bumpersticker teamed with a nasty hitch and there won't be a stranger behind you for miles lol.

you know in IL even if you short stop someone and they hit you its THEIR FAULT! because they were following too closely ... you dont even have to have a reason for the short stop! ... its better if you HAVE a reason so you dont sound like you did it on purpose, There was a dog in the middle of the road!

I too hate, I mean HATE tailgaters AND those jerks that stop behind you at a light that are so close that if someone hits them, they'll hit you.

When I get a tailgater I used to do the old "tap the brakes" thing but have learned since to just slow down, and down and down... until I'm doing something like 35 in a 55 zone and them with a double yellow line.
I'll even ease over to the right hand side of my lane, just to bait them into passing.

One of these days, I'm going to figure out how to set up my rear window washer spray so that it jets out the back of my Jeep. *WEG*

Tailgaters are assholes...

It's bad enough when i'm in my TJ when someone comes blasting up behind but even worse when I'm on my bike!

That's where the rolls of pennies come in.

Rolls of pennies or little steel balls. They don't see them coming after you flick one over your shoulder, but they sure slow down when they hear them hit. My wife asked why there are small bearing balls in my right hand pocket of my leather.

I slow down hard and if they pass me, my KC's come on in their rear. works great on tool bags cutting me off too.

If you really want to teach them a lesson with your rock bumper. Carefully watch your rear view mirror for when they glance away for a split second. Then jerk your emergency brake, there will be no brake lights on your Jeep and they'll eat your bumper, and hopefully their airbag. I HATE TAILGATERS!

My 96 escort would scream those rear tires if you pulled the e-brake and shoot an instant plume of smoke. That always created distance as well.

Good story op.

Kate-My buddy had a 94 cherokee, his rear window washer hose would pop off, a girl was tail gating him, so he turned it on, shot out about 10 feet back and got her hood. She started honking at him, we just laughed.

Surely she must have other redeeming qualities that make up for her complete lack of a sense of mischief and mayhem! Please.. just PLEASE say she does!

If my husband wanted to put something like that on his truck, I'd be out there helping him.

I was thinking that there must be some way that I could do it when I have the soft top on. It could be funny as heck. All it would be is windshield washer fluid.... well.. lightly seasoned with a dash of mischief.

Im surprised how much that police RUBI looks like my 94' YJ. Not a lot of differences at first glance. The wheels really stand out the most to me. I saw one guy out here who put the RUBI wheels on his YJ or TJ, it looks sharp as hell. I like 'em...
