Ground Zero

While out on patrol of NYC Harbor tonight I was able to snap some really cool photos from the river of down town NYC an of the lights from Ground Zero.

Hope you all enjoy.

This one is pretty cool is approaching area before the clouds cleared.

Random shot.

Up close.

Shows the height of the light in place of twin towers.

I have a several more photos but these were some of the better ones. Hope you enjoy them as we reflect back in time over the next few days.

I live across the river near Liberty State Park. Through the years I've seen the lights many times, they are very cool. Though it's been nearly 13 years since the Towers came down, the NYC skyline still looks naked without them. I saw them daily for nearly 30 years.

Thank you, I am planning on going back soon, last trip was at the 10 year mark and trip before that was the day it happened, will never forget...

To this day I get chill bumps from it and seeing the light makes me remember the good times and the people we saved while giving rememberance to those we lost.

Thank you. The last time I was in New York, I did not get the chance to see the Ground Zero area. To this day, I will never come to terms with the fact that the Towers which I would pass by on a frequent occasion as a child are gone, but most importantly all of the lives that were lost that day.

Thank you. Those bring back sad memories but also stir pride. We have built something of great beauty out of the rubble of terrorism's chaos.

Edit.. Would you mind If I reposted one of your pictures to my Facebook page? Our church sent a crew to New York to help and I think your pictures symbolize the true meaning of our country's spirt.

I can see the light from my place about 10 miles away as the crow flies, quite a sight. Takes me back to that morning.
