I know of 2 people that run them. One of them still has it and it's been something like 2 yrs now with no problems. The other person had a 8k winch for about a yr. It craped out on him, brought it back and they did not have another 8k so they gave him the 10k winch.
They told me that the winches works great but they are slow.

Ok so I had the original harbor fright 8K wench used it maybe.. 10 times and the part that attaches the cable to the spool just broke. My jeep wasn't even that stuck. Just had weelspin in a Rut. So i took it in because I had the one year warenty I had purchased for 50$. So they had discontinued that wench.. And now came out with the badlands series.. So the warenty coverd the cost of my wench originaly and I had to pay the 160$ diffrence for the 9K badlands wench. I used it a few times.. Then my jeep had tranny problems so It got used to pull my wrangler onto a trailer a few times.. Few months later.. Nothing. Another wench toast. I Think im going to go with a name brand this time.. Shoulda just done it right the first time!
