Will a 97 hard top fit on a 2000? they're both TJs so I would assume, but we all know what happens when we assume

I have not done this-but I was told the only difference on the TJ's is the diameter of the padding on the roll bar----as far as tops go. Mirrors ignition and a lot of other things are different but the top issue has more to do with the rollbar padding and either soft or hard doors.

I know I installed a half top on my '04 that is not s'posed to fit----after I removed roll bar padding.
