hardtop lift

Is there anyone who makes a hardtop lift that could be used anywhere and essentially break down small enough to fit into a jeep (or trailer) ? I googled hard top lifts but they all seem to be ceiling mounted.

Ok so next question would anyone have any interest in one? I'm thinking of making one. It could really be used as a general purpose lift, for just about anything up to 500 ish lbs.

When u mean "anywhere" wouldn't u need something to hang it from? I know u could make some kind of crane system off the hitch (possibly use the winch to do the lifting) or a tree, but it only takes two people to mount/dismount the top. Interested in what u come up with though. Good luck

Well, it would have to be some type of an a-frame hoist or gantry.

Northern Industrial Adjustable Gantry Crane — 2,000-Lb. Capacity | Gantry Cranes| Northern Tool + Equipment

Not sure how you could make all that fit in a jeep.

Comes a point when it's just easier to lift it off. To me the point of the hoist isn't just to remove it, but it's to store it too. Honestly I love my lift, but can have my son and I put it on and off faster, but storage is the challenge.

Storage is not an issue for me I have 2 3+ car garages. (well 1 was migrant housing)
I like the idea of being able to take it off anywhere and not have to worry about where to set it. Just leave it on the lift. Oh and no its not an a frame or gantry. And it will be all aluminum for weight savings. It won't have a huge lifting capacity but should support a few hundred lbs. Oh and it would probably be just fine storing it on the lift, I was just stating I don't have storage problems. I also don't like the idea of it hanging off the roof of my garages... They were built in the 50's. They are fine structurally but I don't want to put extra stress on them. And being able to fit in in the jeep I'll use magic. ;-)

From who? Do you know of someone coming out with one? I would be very interested in this, as I was going to try and build one myself.
