Has Anyone Messed With Your Winch?

I just picked up 2013 10A Rubicon and the dealer installed the Warn 9.5cti winch on it. I've never owned a winch before, so I'm curious if anyone has had any issues with ***holes free spooling their winch when they weren't around? Do winch locks even exist to prevent this from happening? The reason I ask this is because my friends were messing around with it, and it got me thinking if it's something strangers who just want to be jerks would do if they walked by.

Out of the 2 Rigs I have had with winches no one has messed with them.

But if someone messes with your winch they are usually trying to steal it , Thus the reason I had sockets 4 sizes too large tack welded over the bolts and the winch plate tacked welded to the frame

The only time this happened was when a friend wanted to get even for a prank and ran out most my line out and around a half dozen trees and my axles and back onto itself he made sure I found it when hung over and late for a date with my ol lady.

I've never had issues with mine. But again, with the soft top, I try to park smart.

My buddies unspooled mine...they thought they were soooooo funny!

Made them run the cable back in until it was spooled perfectly.

HaHAHHAAA!!!!! Well played sir, well played...

For real man, nobody's ever messed with my winch and it's always uncovered. I keep the hook attached to a tow point with a slight bit of tension on it so it shouldn't flip to free spool it anyway.

That said, one night a buddy took one of my 15' towing straps and strapped the rear bumper off to a tree. Turns out 15' gives provides just enough momentum to slam you into the steering wheel and bend the sh*t out of a stock tube bumper.

Nobody has ever messed with mine but I do look at it whenever I get back in the Jeep to make sure nobody has flipped the clutch to free spool.

Thanks for the replies! I guess I'm being a bit paranoid, but it seems like there are so many idiots these days, anything is possible.
