Small Claims Court is your friend, in this situation. You can represent yourself, just bring all of the evidence and either obtain a letter from the second mechanic, or have him show up as a witness. When the company receives a letter/supeona, they must send legal representation tothe court you filed your claim in. The company will not want to have to incur the cost of sending legal representation to your courthouse to represent the charges. Your trip to small claims court will cost their company more money to just show up than the amount of refund you're after. No company is going to spend thousands of dollars to fight a couple of hundred dollars.

If you want results also get ahold of the local TV station most have an investigative reporter, tell them your story. The last thing these shops want to see is their name on the 6:00 news. This happened in my town about 8 years ago with a company called J... Brakes at the time I was a store manager for Midas I always treated the customers right. The day after the story broke we had our corparate people at our shop saying they didnt want to be onthe news too.The local TV station ripped J brakes a new one put one location out of business. There are some franchise shops out there that do thr right thing others dont and that makes it hard on the honest guys who run legit shops.

The AG is not there to get you a refund. They are there to investigate unethical business practices.

Your getting a refund from the company to make you go away is just icing on the cake.

Brake Check Beware! - Brake Check's Actions Result in Deaths of Three

Found this last night... Someone died in an accident right after getting brakes done by this company... don't understand why they are still in business. I'm gathering as much info as I can before I send complaint to AG...
