heater/ac switch question

good evening fellow Jeepers,I have a minor concern regarding the heater/ac switch.It only works when I wiggle the knob.Thats it!

mine was doing this. From what I gathered it canbe two things, the switch or the resistor.

I would pull the switch off, like the knob part. and then push on the rod very hard with a flat head screwdriver. put the knob back on and see if it helped.

if not you may need to replace one of the two aforementioned parts.

thank you GS00 I tried that to no avail.The blower will work on all the setting when I push up on the knob.I reckon it's the switch.

Dealership usually has it in stock, swapped mine last year, about $20 I believe

Definitely the switch. Just replaced mine too, which was doing the same thing.

When the resistor pack goes, your blower will usually only work on the highest setting, which bypasses the resistor. It won't matter if you wiggle the switch.

Just posted a thread about my switch losing all its levels, and finally working only on HIGH. Now that's out....then saw your message. QUESTION..is the switch a big deal to change? Thanks

Hi Michael and welcome to Wrangler Forum! The switch in question is the vacuum switch.It's very easy to replace.It took me 10 minutes taking my time.
