Help 4x4 not working

I have a 1991 yj when I put it in 4high I can her the clicking but it won't lock in if any1 could respond with tips on what it might b it would help a lot thanks

The axel lock is vacuum actuated. A leaky or broken vacuum line is the most likely problem.

Determination: the feeling you get right before you do something incredibly stupid.
