Help for a newbie

I just purchased my first Jeep. I had to wait a few days for my local dealership to get me my jeep. I wanted a specific color and a standard trans. Finally yesterday my new Jeep arrived and I picked it up. I immediately drove it to my father's house to do some off roading, but to my dismay the brand new Jeep overheated and I realized my radiator fan simply just doesn't ever turn on. I got it back to the dealership and they said they'd take care of it. I'm obviously a little bummed not being able to drive my new toy; especially knowing it's in the shop on the very first day.

Is this a common problem, and how easy of a fix is something like this?

Welcome! Lousy luck with a new vehicle, but I'd be willing to bet it's a pretty easy fix for the dealership.

It could be something as simple as air in the cooling system.

Sometimes stuff happens and there is nothing you can do about it. I was driving a brand new power stroke one time for a transit company and the motor blew with 37 miles on it. Its just how things work. Hopefully it will be a relatively quick fix and you will have your Jeep back soon.

Hopefully the engine wasn't damaged when your rig overheated.
