I just bought a 2015 Jeep with a Premium Sunrider Soft Top and I cannot get the two latches to lock down. I was able to lock them down a couple of times but now they come about a 1/8 to 1/4 inch short of the hooks.
Any ideas or tricks for this first time Jeep owner?
You asked a few days ago, hopefully you figured it out by now that the latches open a bit more ( like a 3 piece " Y " to grab the hooks at the windshield base.
Got a bit freaked the first time I tried to re-latch too - Enjoy your new Jeep !
IDK if this has been fixed or even addressed...there are a lot of different threads about this type of thing.
One key in my experience is to do the latches on the header FIRST as soon as top is up...however do not fully latch. Than do the rear SAIL Panels on the back of the Jeep. Than side windows, followed by rear windows. ONCE everything else is done, THAN fully lock and latch header latches. However since this is a sunrider top it is also important to make sure it is clicked into place above the seats when first raising the top....the place where it pivots. Have not actually done a JKU so this MAY be a little off..but not much. GOOD LUCK!!
Thanks for your help. I have been able to get them latched but it was a struggle. This top has two latches that allow me to fold it back and secure it with two Velcro straps. I have not removed the rear windows or panels. I'll re-post if I hit another issue.
If you have the front fold back top you have to take out the rear window or the air pushing against it from inside will push back your top making it impossible to latch.
Great advice from all. I have found it to be easier. I do believe that unzipping the back window was helpful.
