hilift and jack stands?

So my stock jack is broken and I want a hilift jack but I heard that's you shoudnt use them for just changing tires...if I keep a jack stand in my jeep and jack it up to change a tire with the hilift and tos the jack stand under.....is that alright or should I just get another factory jack?

I wouldn't want to carry a stand everywhere, that's for sure. You can get a factory jack to lift from the axle to change a tire, up to probably a 37" tire. Love my hi lift for the trail, but changing a tire- good ol' factory jack.

At home I use a hydraulic jack. If I break down on the road I'll use the factory jack.

My Hi-Lift is for emergency off-road use.

I dont see anything wrong with it as long as you know the right way to use it. I carry one in my trailer to change tires on it. It will pick up the trailer and usually whatever is on it easily.

I change my tires with my Hi Lift all the time. Just make sure the tires are blocked so the jeep won't roll.

Well my Hi Lift is the only jack I have on my jeep, so its the only one I use. If You don't block a wheel the jeep will roll off the jack. I have done this! You can get hurt using this jack, use at CAUTION! I have been around these jacks all my life, I know to use CAUTION! I saw my Dad get hit in the head with the handle as it sliped out of his hand. Knocked him to his knees. Just be carefull when using the jack.
