Default Hood paint issues...

This paint literally bubbled up last night after a storm went through. It is the first time I have seen it. I was wondering if anyone knew what caused it, how to prevent it from happening, and what to to about it.
Ironically I just waxed it about two days before this happened.. so Im not sure where i went wrong.
Here are some pics of the problem..

What year is your Jeep? 2005, 2006 are known for some paint problems. If its older, it may have been in the body shop before, which means the shop that did the work *may* warranty it.

looks like the clear is coming up. Id say bad prep work either by factory or body shop. But I'm not a certified body man, just worked in a number of shops and have seen it before.

Then consult your local body shop. They would probably be able to help you out more since we are of no help. that is all.

Did this just start after you waxed it, or has the original defect been present and getting larger for a period of time?

Funny but scary that you mentioned that. My 98 hood has a half dollar sized spot on it that looks like that, about the same place too. Hasn't bubbled yet but there is definitely a deformity in the paint. It was probably some moron that spilled his jelly donut on there before painting at the factory and didn't clean it off right. LOL I also have heat cracks on the leading edge of my hood where the radiator is. Anyone else have this??

Stop at a dealership and see if they know anything about issues like this. Also check your insurance policy online. This won't be covered but I was surprised the type of info I found about recalls and technical notes on my vehicles.
