How did you decide on your color?

Hey all, First post here.

I live in NY and decided to buy a wrangler sport to have a little more fun in life and not be as responsible ha =)

so, I was looking at a base model wrangler sport with a hard top and 6spd manual and AC, nothing more. Unfortunately the 2013's are drying up and that combo is no where to be found in Black the color I want. (past 4 cars have all been black so im quite partial to it)

This leaves me with 2 options.

Try and find another color or order a new 2014 and wait for it to be delivered.

My uncle has had his fair share of jeeps and said black is cool and looks good but its very common place and theres nothing wrong with that but maybe you should go something bright and really make it pop and switch things up.

Hes not wrong, I mean I could try another color I just had a slight inkling that in 6 months ill kick myself for not getting black if I end up not loving the color.

I thought about ordering a new 2014 which I plan on doing but then that got me thinking.. maybe a super bright color would be cool, I see the new 2014 color "Ampd" looks super flashy or the copperhead color.. im not sure.

So i guess im looking for some thoughts on how you decide your color and what process you go through to decide it.

I wanted Crush, but they stopped offering it a couple of days before I ordered. So, Cherry was sort of next on the list. At least for my wife, but I would have preferred white or tan if Crush wasn't available. Anvil wasn't being offered yet and I like that too.

One thing I didn't want was metallic, but that's what we ended up with. One thing I've found is how hard it is to keep Cherry clean. Every mud drop of bug spot shows up. But when it's clean and waxed, wow!

2013 Rubi 2 dr, six speed, Cherry, hardtop. Rampage recovery bumper, Zeon 10S. 19/60 springs, 255/80r17 Cooper ST Maxx.

Saw it, liked it, bought it.
It never occurred to me to ask for opinions, but I'll gladly listen to what others might have to say when they start contributing to my bank acct...
As it turns out, I'm not a 'real' jeeper

I've got Billet Silver and I love it. Happened to be on the lot when I went in to buy.

Pictures on the internet and different lighting make it difficult to tell what colors look like exactly. I'd say go to some dealerships on a Sunday when there is nobody there and check out some colors in person.

I descided on my color because when I was at the dealership, I saw a White Moab, with the black hard top. Loved the way it looked

Flame red with black soft top was the only 2 dr on the lot so I went with. Didn't care, it's a Jeep. Wife and I never liked any vehicle in red, but for some reason we love this.

We browsed the colors on the Jeep website and narrowed it down to a few that we liked. There were some colors that we wondered what the engineers were smoking that day when they came up with them.

Anyway, once we narrowed down the field we checked the inventory of several dealers online and drove out to see the colors in person. Sometimes what looks nice in a photo doesn't look the same in real life. My wife decided on Deep Cherry Red since it's her Jeep. I don't think it is available in 2014, it was a limited availability color last year.

I've never had a blue car before and was dead set on getting a blue Wrangler. Deep Water Blue from 2010 was my choice.

We decided on Detonator Yellow because...

It was the only one they had!

We were looking for a used JKUR, 1 or 2 model years old, low mileage, and at a good price. After an extensive internet search, we found one in Lake Havasu AZ at a Chrysler dealership. It's a '11 with 19k on the clock and was in pristine condition. The PO lived in Alaska but had a vacation home at Lake Havasu, and he only used the Jeep when he was in town.

The fact that it was exactly what we were looking for sold us. Color from that perspective was not relevant. So we chose Detonator Yellow!

2007 Silverado 2500HD Duramax
1997 Bayliner 1950 Capri Skinnydipper
2007 Springdale 291 RKL-GL

I bought my new '13 in black, against all feedback. I love it when it's clean and shiny but after hitting the trails, it's covered in scratches. I'll probably pick a lighter color that isn't prone to showing the scratches so much for the next one. Hopefully it'll be in 20 years :-)

I used to be an auto detailer so I buy white whenever I can. It is the easiest to shine, hides dings and looks clean from a distance even when its not. The darker the color the harder it is to take care of which is why I never buy black.

They had the Billet Silver, Rock Lobster and Black when I bought mine. I have a Black Cruze so I knew black was out, beautiful when clean but shows all the dirt. Wifey didn't like the Rock Lobster so went home with the Billet Silver and we both really love it, all the black trim makes it look really cool.

I was convinced I wanted Tango Mango Orange ... I loved it. Then I had a choice to make a 2011 with 24k miles in tango mango or a 2011 with 15k miles in cosmos blue.

I posted on the forum and asked which one people liked. Someone wrote back that the cosmos blue was as "rare as the holy grail". Then a dealer chimed in and told me that the cosmos blue was a stock color but not A big seller so it was mostly sold by order from factory only which required a long wait.

At that point I wanted the rarity of it and now I love it! I'm stopped all the time by Jeepers saying they love the color. I've owned it 2 weeks and I've started adding mods in black. My next step is plasti dipping grill. The black looks amazing against the bright blue.

So far I added hand grips, running boards, demi bra and rear light covers. Custom vinyl for window and tire cover are coming as soon as I settle on a saying ( I keep changing my mind).

Saw Anvil with red seats at the auto show and decided that was the way I would go.

Luckily I found a black one that was an amazing deal at a time when I wasn't even looking to buy, so I didn't have a colour choice to make. (Otherwise I'd still be deciding, probably.)

I don't know that I would have chosen black if it had been up to me, but I do love her. Impossible to keep clean but hey, it's a Wrangler, they look better filthy.

I was talking about wanting a Jeep. The wife says, "Meh... but oooh, I do like them in that bright red color".
I now have a Flame Red JKU.

In 2005 we went out to buy a TJ and Flame Red just struck me as the "right" color for my Jeep. When it came time for a JKUR, FR was available and I'm convinced it was the right choice! I might have switched to Crush but it was discontinued.

I had preferences on color, but I was really ok with any color because all I wanted was a jeep.
Funny thing is that I ended up with red, my favorite color.
