How do you handle the depression . . .

So it's been more than a week of awesome weather in New England and here comes Hurricane Earl to ruin it all.

While this far into Massachusetts we're only going to get some heavy rain and strong winds, it still means that the doors have to go back on and the top should probably go up.

Chris...same here. I am in NC and it affected us last night. I am inland a bit, so I expected the same thing as you. My baby fought me....didn't want to get dressed again last night. She looked so sad.

But, re-clothed her, and guess what? We didn't get a freaking drop of rain.

It weakened once it hit the NC coast, so you may be just fine.

A Bestop trail cover would have gotten you through the night without having to put doors and windows back on.

^^^^ Excellent point.

I had to button up mine last night since I lost the garage to the Rubi.... Expecting rain this morning, and I have to drive her. Took the hard top off the Rubi yesterday afternoon and are still awaiting the windows, door surrounds, etc. from the dealer for her... I may never help with the hard top again..... That sucker is heavy and a pain it the potatoes.....

I have this trail cover but it comes with the unfortunate defect of not being able to see through it while driving

Just kidding, I'll need to drive her during the storm so unfortunately she got buttoned up about 20 minutes after this post. The door pins were painful to have to line up again by myself, I had help last time.

Make sure the window is open and you carry the door with your arm through the window gripping the arm rest. You should hold the door at an open-to-the-Jeep angle of 45 degrees. They will amazing line right up and slip in.

Pretty much what I did, the bottom of the door wasn't firm, had a little swing to it. I'm sure it comes with practice.

Hey JIMBO, I was out in Yucca Valley last week and we got nailed with the nastiest monsoon downpour I have ever seen out there. I thought my cabin was going to wash away, the roads were rivers. Lightening strikes everywhere. Talk about LOUD. It was actually scary. And get this: It was HAILING!!!. 100 degrees one day and hail the next. Crazy stuff. Actually I loved it. Nothing like the smell of the desert after a good summer rain ..

I don't know what the altitude is in the YUCCA VALLEY, but where my place is in NorNv, it's 4200 ft

March

July 100°

It rains every time I'm there--year around (twice a month)

I'm at 3600'. A couple of good snowstorms every winter. Never in March though...

I was up near you in Tahoe last April and it dumped pretty good. I'm glad I took the Jeep.

115f is bearable. At least it's dry heat. I'd rather be in Nevada than the south any day.

Same here! I thought this was gonna be a biggin'. My YJ has been naked since May. Debated how to get her ready; decided to leave the hard top in the garage and put the softy on. As I struggled w/ the last zipper, I could see and hear a wall of rain coming down the hill. Got her dressed just in time! 3 minutes later, it was sunny out again.

Frickin' Earl. He better huff and puff at least as much as I did...lazy bastard.

So far nothing. Few drops of rain this afternoon that I could have left the top off for and then sun.

C'mon Earl... waiting....

I was thinking about doing the same thing. Going tonight? Feel free to PM me wherever you're going if you want some company. I've got a 3 day weekend and I plan to spent plenty of time in the Jeep, making productive use of my time and of Earl.
