How do you turn on the OEM foglights

Ok...May sound dumb but just picked up an 05 Wrangler today. Has original OEM foglights and the manual says to pull out the end of the lever. the headlights or running lights are on and makes no difference, doesn't move. Am I missing something?

The brights aren't on, and I don't see a switch in the center console.

Sorry bout that ... He went to bed and I'm still here playing with my new jeep... I can't find an aux fog light switch and can't find anything in the manual other than to pull the headlight lever out.

If it has them, that's all you have to do. the fog light switch was for the older jeeps. Just the last part that twists will pull straight out. You have to have at least the parking lights on then pull out. It doesn't matter if the high beams are on or not, the switch should still pull out. But that is how you work them. If it doesn't pull out then someone may have added some factory lights and put the switch somewhere different and it possibly doesn't have the switch from the factory.

ok you pull the head light lever out to turn on your lights and there should be few switches to the left of the ash tray above the lighter. (factory fogs only work with low beams as stated above)

Just behind the shifter knob on my picture.

nooooooo - that is only on the pre-2003 tj's. 2003 and later have the foglight switch on the turn signal stalk just as mentioned above. turn the headlight switch at least one click (to parking lamps) and then pull it out where the knurled section of the stalk is - about the last 1" or so. that should pop out just less than 1/4" and trigger the fogs. also like stated earlier they'll only work if the lowbeam headlamps and/or the parking lamps are on. the switch will stop pop out with the highbeams on but in the OEM configuration you won't get the fogs to light up.

#7 is the switch in question - you can see the fog lamp symbol at the end of that stalk. the directions in the paragraph above the pic give step-by-step on how to turn it on. straight from the factory service manual - hope that helps.
