How easy is it to sell a 2013 hard top?

Hi everyone,

Just joined the Wrangler Forum and am getting ready to pull the trigger on my first Wrangler! My question is: I met a guy who is leasing a 2013 Wrangler (orange crush) with a hard-top. I really like the color and it is hard to come by but I do NOT want the hard-top. The guy has a soft-top too so I'm wondering how difficult it will be for me to sell the hard top and get a decent price? Where would I have the most luck selling? E-Bay?

Thanks!
Andy

Selling it shouldn't be a problem, but it all hinges on what you consider a "decent price".

Asking 90%+ of full retail price at the parts counter as some others have done isn't likely to move it soon.

I'd sell it on CL or through local Jeep clubs. eBay fees and shipping costs to a distant buyer will make the sale costly.

I'd say try selling it on here, but you need 15 posts! I'm trying to sell my jeep outright, so I have 13 more posts to go haha.

IDk saw a JK top at the dealer last week when i was picking up our Polar Edition,,,they asked if we wanted it for $1200 installed on our '12 JK that came stock softop only...at first I said sure than I saw it...it was Black but it was off of a Sahara so it was the gloss body panel painted look I passed.

I am not sure if I read your post correctly but it is not a black HT correct? The reason I ask is because if it is painted gonna be a lot fewer potential buyers.

I sell a lot of stuff online and you just have to make sure they buyer knows that they are held accountable for any shipping fees I think you will be able to sell it here

It's easy if priced right. Be upfront with your listing about your expectations for a buyer to pick up / deliver / or shipping.

Might be able to help you out with that if I get the Jeep this weekend. Where are you writing from?

A guy is selling a leased Jeep, or a hardtop from a leased Jeep? If the later, its not his to sell.

This would be a good place to list it. I see people looking for stuff here all the time.
