How I Got My Jeep

I am new here and enjoy reading you guys.
I bought my first Jeep today. Here is how my search went:

These days the web is a great help as to car shopping. All the dealer inventory is on line.
Jeep Wrangler stickers have little to no play as to price quibble. Back in the day, a new Harley was cheaper than a used Harley, but new ones could not be found. It is not like that, but you get the jest.

After a couple weeks of reading, decided what I wanted and found several vehicles I could live with at dealers in a range of 75 miles and a few others farther out.
I wanted Commando Green with a hard top, but could live with dark red, black or maybe white.

A Jeep is a dark money hole as to options, like my boat or my Harley. I get that. Options are endless. Apparently it can be cheaper to get many on day one.

Anyway, got up seven 2013 vehicles and all were at different dealers as 2014s are arriving now and 2013s are few. I was up for a 2014, but no arrivals now met my criteria. My old truck was dead, and I needed a ride as my beer supply was getting low.

I printed off the window stickers and went armed with info to the dealers. I said up front I was buying this week and what price could they offer on their vehicle. All tried to play their game, but as I had prints in my hand, and demanded their best price, I had some leverage as I could play them one against the other. I was still a babe for slaughter, but it got their attention.

In the end, took the vehicle I wanted most at a good sticker reduction, with tags, taxes, etc included plus a free trailer hitch which I had to have. It was the dealer farthest from me at about 60 miles, but I it was about 10% off sticker.

New Commando Green Sahara in my driveway today.
