How many miles are too many?

I presently own a 97 5 speed 4.0 Sport with 224,000 miles. I just replaced the rms, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket and radiator this weekend. It has a leak at the distributor cap that needs repaired.

Other than that the tranny is good and it has been well taken care of.

It is not my daily driver, but I would like to know if I should keep fixing the little things or sell it? Thanks

Most of the time its cheaper to fix, as long as its not major....depends if you like doing that stuff too.
You can do alot of mods and repairs for the same cost as a monthly car payment

Best advice ever.

You will pay a car note, one way or another. If you like wrenching then enjoy the lower taxes and excercise an old Jeep can grant you. If you hate wrenching, you might as well have a Jeep that doesn't have down time as the costs of ownership tend to be similar if shops do all your repairs. Wouldn't it be easier to pay the shop without dropping the Jeep off for 2 days?

Thanks for the advice. At what mileage does a well maintained 4.0 motor fail?
