how much ? worth it?

how much could I get for this jeep if I sold it for parts or as a whole? I haven't bought it yet but want to have a idea of it before I make a offer.
It's a 04 wrangler unlimited and I know as much or less then you damage to hood, right fender, left quarter panel, windshield is cracked and obviously roll cage is no good and soft top frame is bad. engine tranny good as is says it runs and moves with 62,000 miles the title is junk/parts only.
so my question again is what could i possibly get from parting it out or selling it whole? thanks

first i don't really understand how junk/salvage titles work. i would only assume it would make it hard to sell even if you do fix it up like new. seems to risky if you're only trying to resell it for more. if you wanted to turn it into a off road only jeep then thats a good place to start.

if you can get it at a good price there are definently alot of parts on there you could keep for your own use.. both upgrades to what you got and spare parts are always good news

I would not fix it up since it is a junk/parts only. I would only buy it to sell parts or the entire thing. think I would be able to make my money back if I got it for around 2500?

Doors and tires if in good shape could
grab over a $1000
I would think $2500 or more parted out.

When a car is declared a total loss by insurance (meaning it would take more than 70% of its total value to repair) it is taken on by insurance company's than sold off either to a yard or off as parts... pretty much they make there money back out of parting out the Vehicle or reselling it..

My little bro does this, buys up cars at auction for parts. He knows what to buy and how to sell. Just talked to him. He said a Wrangler in Michigan where he does the auctions of that year and miles should auction for between $3000 and $4000. Once parted, especially with those tires/suspension/axles/low mileage engine, you can probably make $1000-1500 on it.

There was a Jeep listed like 2 weeks on CL, TJ, straight 6, etc.

It had front end damage on one side, they rear ended somebody, it was not drivable.

And they only had liability, so they were selling the whole thing for parts.

They had it listed on CL for like $2500 OBO - and they had sold it within a few hours.

That's way in TX though.

Yea thats sorta what I do. I do it with jeeps and my Dad does it with cars. Except this is my first time doing it at a auction.

Craigslist is down which would make it a little bit more difficult to sell locally. I'll keep you all posted on what happens. auctions early tomorrow morning and its out of state so it should be interesting.

ok but what happens to the title when you fix it. the op doesn't want to but that's where i'm lost. as far as i know it stays a salvage title so it would be hard to sell.

i believe it becomes a prior salvage. But I don't think you can turn a "junk/parts only" into a salvage

auction is actually friday morning

Junk and salvage are basically the same, MN calls is salvage and IA calls it junk. but then when it reaches salvage/junk it goes into a sub category; parts only, repairable

even though this is easily repairable, the insurance says its not and stamped the junk/parts only.
