How to mount Hi Lift Jack (pictures!)

I did a search and couldn't really find what I was looking for so here it goes..

I plan on buying a Hi Lift jack next time I get a little spending money, problem is, I have no idea where to mount it. I really would prefer to have it on the back bumper somwhere.. but with my swing away and my spare, I don't really have a lot of room for it. I was just hoping everyone could put up some pictures of how you have yours mounted.

Thanks,
Justin

the best place in my opinion is attached to the rollbar at the rear of the jeep. Keep it inside ptotected from the elements.
I dont have any pics, but a couple of "U" bolts will do the job.

I used to have mine mounted to the front bumper, but after a trip I took a couple weeks ago, I realized that it killed my approach angle. So I decided to take a couple of u-bolts and bolt it to the roll bar in the back, inside of the jeep. I like it much better and the ride is much quieter now.

What kind of rear bumper do you have? I don't have a rear bumper so I bolt my high lift to the cross member and it becomes my bumper

Not an advisable place if you carry passengers in the back. But if you're like me and never carry passengers, it's a great place that doesn't affect storage capacity, and keeps the jack out of the elements.

I have a smittybilt XRC rear bumper with the swing away and a 33 inch spare. I'll try to get a picture up sometime soon. I'm not great with computers lol.

and just because I know it will come sooner or later.. for all of you smittybilt haters.. say what you will about it, but their XRC bumpers are sturdy as hell and I'm more than satisfied with my decision.

My recovery box and HiLift are always there--in different spots and sometimes I take chains/snatch straps/tow straps/ rope/ full recovery tool set/ several busted bead recovery tools--BIG LIST !!

You could also mount it behind the hood in front of the windshield. Its up out of the way, thats how i plan to do mine.

It can damage the upper hood area over time.

I like the way the hood mounts look.. but I would like it to be more accessable and I don't want to have to worry about putting dings in my hood on accident haha
