Thumbs up How to stop soft top from flapping

We all know that soft tops flap like crazy on the highway, but does anybody have any suggestions or tricks on how to reduce that problem?

i wrapped a couple of hand towels around the sides and middle of the bar that goes across the middle of the cab (the hardware, not the rollbar). They acted as spacers and kept it from slapping the bare metal, it actually helped a lot.

Any other hints?

Quadratec has this neat little snap on flexy bar that pushes up on the center of the top and its supposed to keep water from pooling as well as keep it from flapping, I'm not sure how well it works but here ya go

If I have the vent blower on high, it keeps the cab pressure up and that helps keep the top from flapping too much. This doesn't work if the windows are open (obviously). On windy days, it doesn't matter either, as the soft door tops will flap open and cause the same effect as the wind just catching a slack sail as you tack, a big WHAP! There was a company that sold a quilted liner, and I imagine with a little creativity, one could be fabricated that would cut down on the noise. Even when mine isn't flapping though (I have the supposedly quieter sailcloth), it has the constant thunder sound from the small amplitude, high frequency vibration. It's a like a big woofer.

The flexi bar works great... I used one on my YJ when I had it and loved the result. Not only does it stop the flapping, but it definitely stops water from making a lake on top of your Jeep too

Also, when it comes time to replace the soft top, pay the extra cash and get the sailcloth version... Very nice.
