It was going to be my first car and Ive been hyped all about jeeps and everything and my dad just brings up the prices, price of insurance, price of the jeep. He must think that im going to do something like this. http://www.youtube.com/v/0e3EWmhTSi4&hl=en&fs=1
I tell him that I'm mostly going to be driving on the road, to school. Then he says that i should get a road car and not a jeep. So he looks up blazers and cherokees, wth?
I think I'm scaring him by looking at jeeps offroading and that video.

man that is so stupid it pisses me off just watching it. then he wonders why his head hurts.

hope you get a wrangler if you want it, but if you're forced into something else, go with the xj cherokee. awesome vehicle, i'm on my 3rd one. i will always have one. and you can build it and wheel it just as much as a wrangler, they do great off road. and are just as popular of a platform now days.

Tell your father to come to this site and check out Jeeps. Maybe we can change his tune about things. If not, get the Cherokee and build the hell out of it.

calculus sucks.. but when i took it in highschool i was able to test out of it for college

as for your dad not wanting you in a jeep for your first car.. my jeep was my first car.. heck even my sister drove a red 97 for about a month that was left on the lease..

not only is it the best car for the street.. (no top and doors).. its also great in the winter and girls love em.. especially lifted =D

my insurance was always cheap on my tj too.. my insurance agent gave me a deal on it seeing its a 4wd vehicle..

Tell your dad to get you a YJ. They are cheaper and insurance is lower due to the age.

Or, you could get a job and buy it yourself, and then your dad has no control over it.

Maybe your dad doesn't want to get you a Wrangler because you are a Florida fan

Seriously, Florida better beat the hell out of Oklahoma. Damn Tebow...

That Jeep was soo sweet.

How much damage do you think that guy did to his Jeep? Bent frame? Suspension okay?(Just right side?)

O yea, that yellow Jeep was bought by the kid's parents. There is no way in hell I would do that to a Jeep if I earned it with my own money.

Hey, wait a minute, even if my parents did give me that Jeep, I would still not do that idiotic crap to it.

O well. The kids are idiots. Friends don't let friends drive Jeeps 15 feet into the air.

Both my kids now have Jeeps. They can get home in the snow, they are very easy to work on compared to the average car, the insurance isn't that much more and the resale value is great. My kids are 18 and 19. Both understand the trouble they would be in off roading on private property.

There are aftermarket parts galore, so if they ever should be in a fender bender thing, they can do their own repairs and we won't be paying a fortune like we would if they were in a car.

It is not something that can easily be ''hotrodding'' around, they won't be ''racing'' the jeep, they are not designed for that.

It's proven to be a good hobby for them, this mom has no regrets. We let them off road on our property, it's slower, safer than the atv or dirtbikes and they know dang well not to be stupid in them because they'd have no way to get to work if they were to do stupid crap like you can find on utube.

Hopefully my ''Mom" pointers might sway your dad to look at it differently. Good luck.

Alright that pisses me off but that was cool tho! That thing got some major air! I dunno would trophy truck suspension handle that jump?

Actually if my jeep could handle doing that once and driving away I would totally send it that high or higher just once! That would be so much fun! I don't think there are to many jeeps in this day and age that can survive that tho.

Coyote can your jeep or could your jeep handle that?

To the OP send us your dads email and we will all send him a caring email to say why a jeep would be great for your first vehicle! We can change his mind!

Maybe if I yanked out all the drivetrain and sling-shot it. Wait....what the hell am I thinking....NO! That's not what jeeps are for.

But when my jeep is done....I'll be able to put that poor jeep to rest.

I find myself wondering if I spoil my son this much. It's really kind of scary.
