I hate modern vehicles.

My ZJ died the other day and I tracked it down to a fuel problem.
No fuel pressure in the line, no sound of fuel pump running. Squirt a little starting fluid in the sucker and it fires..
Anyway, I drop the tank and replace the fuel pump. the damn ting fires right up and runs better than it has in months so I figure the pump has been going bad for awhile.
This morning I go out to take the kid to school and the godsforsaken piece of %$%^$ ^%$^$ won't start again &^$^%$^%$^%$&(*(*&((&&&^$&$%

I miss the old days when computers were the things the kids you gave wedgies to played with

Stupid question: Did you check the fuel pump relay?

I had terrible experience with a '90 Bronco I owned. I literally changed the pump 3 times.... yup, not a typo, I said 3. Ford had a bad batch of pumps and I got 2 in a row. The failures happened within a couple weeks of each othere too.

Needless to say, I got real good at dropping tanks. I can do them in less than 30 minutes.

i hear that! i was building my yj and was buying pumps from advanced auto parts and the damn things kept failing, i can drop my tank on the trail in under 6 minutes i rigged the tank mount on four bolts so i could just drop it on a whim. i always kept a spare pump in my little tool box
