I have to ask

Ok, as a newbie.... Why is it so many people don't wave?

I notice it more as I get closer to the city when I commute for work.

They're too busy putting make-up on and sending texts to see what's going on around them
I always wave and if they don't wave back my wave turns into the one fingered salute, maybe that will get their attention

I've noticed that newer owners or younger kids are the ones not waving. Me thinks most do not know of the "Jeep wave". some simply don't care.

If they don't wave back, it's ok. You were really only waving to the Jeep.

There are a bunch of jeep owners in my small town. Almost all of them return waves except for this one guy with a 4 door JK but I still wave to his Jeep lol. When I drive to work in the city I still get waves except for the folks that are putting on their make up or playing with the phone especially if I honk :P

I get most of my waves returned... but I will admit, sometimes I just don't pay attention to what cars are coming head on. But when I notice too late, I always feel bad.

Lol, good point! I'll have to keep that in mind when people don't wave back. I'm in the southwest VA/northeast TN region, and no one ever waves. I never had a wave returned in my KJ the whole time I had it. I've had my TJ for ten days now (), and I've only had one wave returned in about 500 miles of driving. I guess people around here don't know about the Jeep wave? Or maybe my stock TJ isn't worthy? (I can't help it being stock; I'm a poor college student!) I always wave to all the Jeeps I pass, no matter what model it is or who's driving!

I'm seventeen, I wave at EVERY SINGLE jeep i see, well, all wranglers and cherokee's not the newer version like grand cherokees liberty's ect.. unless they're modded... but I have noticed lately not getting any waves back, is it because they see i'm a younger kid and don't respect me or what? I'm just trying to be friendly with my fellow jeepers, i'm in love with mine and i'm sure they all are too

These are the same people who never take the top or doors down.

Funny - early Nitro folks wave or peace sign too. But over the last few years I have noticed not so much. I will be driving my husband's Tundra and will wave at Nitros lol!
I look forward to doing the Wrangler wave!

Lol, that's cool, ryt.
I'm definitely going to start waving to parked/unoccupied Jeeps. I saw my TJ's twin in a parking lot the other day, and I was sad that there was no one in it to wave to.

Thanks for all the responses. In the Shenandoah valley I get the waves, but the closer to N/Va and DC I get less and less responses. I'll keep waving to the jeep.
