Diatomaceous earth, not the pool quality, but sold at Home Depot and completely organic. Has the consistency of flour and u can spread it around. Good luck

There back. Can't believe it. They weren't going for the traps, there were only a very small amount left (only saw two, not even sure one was an ant.) I'm starting to think the poison I had is complete crap. I'm trying the boric acid thing next.

I'd sell the jeep.

Bummer. Are you sure you aren't parking on top of a Ant Hill somewhere?

Pour a handful of sugar next to your tires in the driveway or something and they leave your Jeep and go for the sugar. Syrup works well too.

If you're in a garage try bombing it with your jeep in there and windows and top off and maybe carpet out. I bomb my house every year and I don't have very many bugs

I had some leftover traps, so I placed them on and in my jeep. Before the ants swarmed them almost immediately. They're ignoring them now. This is bs.

Home Depot

Found 5 Home Depots in Baton Rouge that list having it. Would think that Lowes and Walmart would have it also.

I went to Walmart and didn't see any, but it looks like the spare traps I had used got rid of them. Well for now at least.

Yep, I'm bumping an old thread, because I have ants. I know where those bastards are (behind the rear left fender flare). They aren't inside the Jeep at all, but screw letting them in.

Soooo, what is the consensus of Raid foggers in the garage over night? Will it hurt my paint? Will it hurt my soft top?

I found this thread after I purchased the foggers, not thinking if it would hurt the paint. Got home, and punched it into Google, and results from 2009 say it will hurt the clear coat.........Yeah, I don't want that (obviously).

There is no food whatsoever in or around the Jeep, if that helps.

I bought some ant traps at Walmart real cheap. Left them out over night and that was the last I saw of them. Don't know if what you have will hurt the paint, but I wouldn't risk it.

Yeah. I'm definitely going to get some ant traps. Not using the bombs. Thanks!

Do you know what kind of ants they are? Some baits only work on certain species. I'd bet the local agricultural extension office could ID those for you. They probably have a website with pics of all the local ant species in the Atlanta area.

No idea. They are really, really tiny black ants. I just looked at a few sites for local ants. None seem to match the description. Odd.

Sounds like sugar ants. Not a big deal, they dont bite. I would fog the garage in early am then go out for the day. By dinner time it should be fine to put the jeep back in. While you are out have the jeep detailed (vacuumed too). They will go after crumbs and anything sweet (may have brought it in on the bottom of your shoes). Then put some sugar ant baits down on your floorboards for about a week to kill the queen if she hasnt been annihilated yet. That should do it.

Thanks for the info guys.

They are all on the outside, back left fender. None are inside. The Jeep is only 2 weeks old. I noticed the ants on the day I picked the Jeep up, right after I got home. They just stay back by that back fender thank god. I've read that bombs will harm the clear coat, so I'm going to try the ant trap things and hope they die.

I will suggest that you DON'T put the bait traps or Torro papers or any other product in the Jeep, put it on the ground around the Jeep. Since they are drawn to the traps you could actually draw them into your Jeep that way but by putting them on the ground around it you will draw them away from your Jeep.

I got this from a friend that used to do bug spraying for a living. Hope it helps.

I was born at Northside & raised in Fulton, they're definitely sugar ants from what you describe. Traps will get em, they probably just made a home in your Jeep. I had a colony move into a refridgerator once, that was a chore to eliminate.
