Question I knew I forgot to do something.

I'm at work. It's pouring rain down here. And my Jeep's d30 is outside on the jack stands at home opened up, completely open to the rain and completely clean/free of oil.
is that bad or should it be fine?

Lost, is the R&P in there or is it complete open? If open then as Bob said just make sure it's dry. If the carrier and gear is in there then I'd pop them out and give them a good spray with brake cleaner before you put it all back together.
