Check your laws, can you lower a point on your bumpers to get away with the height?

Well the first thing you need to do is backhand your brother-in-law, and second do like crafty said and check lift laws. Most are based off of bumper height and that can be manipulated so....all is not lost, unless your talking about a free 8.8.
Ouch...sick-burn.

Not sure what part of NJ your in.. but there are 3 dana 60's to be found for cheap, not sure if they are still forsale http://newjersey.craigslist.org/pts/730152355.html This might help you to get over the 8.8...

Once you go over 3" or so you have to take it to a special inspection station where they test the lift. Once that passes you are legal provided it's not overlimit. I don't live there anymore but there are quite a few XJ owners over on naxja.org that do.

Oh yeah...the tilt tester!!!! I remember that when I lived in NJ. They do not chain your rig either.

The 8.8 will be a much easier solution for you to install on your YJ. Bolt patterns are the same. Width is so close to the same it's not an issue. If you go with an older 44 or 60 you are going to have much more work to do.

You will also lose more clearance at the pumpkin area.

Maybe they're the grammar cops and want to cite you for submitting the world's longest run-on sentence? Just a thought.......

Just playing, bro. Just playin'.

No he's not. He's serious.

Ohh hey cave, I'm almost certain I'll make it up to the car show, but I doubt it will be in the jeep.
1) Its still 2wd (I still don't have a D30 carrier yet)
2) Carb'ed Chevy 350 + 5hrs of driving and the current price of gas.
3) I noticed I was having a slight engine temp problem on the highway the other day so I have to figure that out.

So. GMC, have you back-handed your brother-in-law yet? I would definitely let him know that what he did blows, and to expect coal in his stocking for Christmas.

Oh ya. Punctuation is your friend. But I do feel for ya man. Having a free 8.8 slip through your fingers...and you know that if all they do is sell that 8.8 the junkyard has already turned a profit on that rig.

You ==><==Brother-in-law
