I never knew..

I jumped in the jeep the other day and saw my brake light stayed on. I messed with my E-brake to no avail. I later found out that my brake fluid was extermely low and my cailbers were shot. I never knew that the old jeep could sense something like that. I'm always in amazment. Just wanted to say.

Mine is sensing something like that, too. Front reservoir only was low. Filled it up, all good. Now about 3 weeks later it's low again. Guess I have a leaky wheel cylinder or line somewhere.

every resevior has a low level sensor. and you technically should never just add brake fluid. as brakes wear down the fluid goes down. when the pads are replaced, the cylinders go back into the calipers and the level goes back up. stupid jiffy lube tops off brake fluid and then when you replace your brakes, the fluid comes pouring out cuz its to full.

and your light should come on when the pads are very low,(or when pressure is low obviously) this will not happen when they are filling the resevior.

and obviously if you've filled it more than once it is leaking somewhere.

sorry had to rant about that, filling brake reseviors makes me angry.

Does replacing cailpers and bleeding the brakes make you happy?

obviously not when repairs have been made, or flushing the brake system. my whole point was topping off brake fluid for no reason other than it looks a little low.

but thanks captain obvious
