This is a fantastic thread . I just finished reading the entire thing. Wow...Very Cool! Many different walks of life, different paths, different ages.

I'm currently an Aircraft Maintenance Controller for the Air Force Reserves in a military and civilian capacity. I sit behind a desk tracking airplanes that we're maintaining here and abroad. Keeping my Commanders, Mx Officers, Superintendents & Production Supervisors, and of course the Air Force on how we're doing and keeping our planes flying. Before that, I was in heavy maintenance (flight controls, landing gear, structures, and wheel & tires). And way before that, I was an Aircraft Mechanic on C-141B/C, C-5A/B, and KC-135Rs. I have very limited time on other airplanes that were in service, but nothing worth to mentioning. I have more than 27 years of experience and ready to move on to less stressing environment... Proud to have served...Proud to have done a small part.

For all Veterans, Police Officers, Correctional Officers, Security Forces, Emergency Response Personnel, Construction Workers, and Contractors overseas...'THANK YOU FOR SERVING OUR COUNTRY AND COMMUNITIES AND KEEPING US SAFE AND SECURED...GOD BLESS!'

Dan

p.s. If I missed anyone, blame it on memory loss! Happy Trails!

When I read this post, I had just got home from work (NYPD) after standing a foot post next to Macy's on 34th street. In fact here is a pic from my post today:

I was taking a picture of that RV playing Hasidic music and some guy chanting on a microphone. Only in New York.

Anyway...I was tired, my feet hurt and if one more person asked me where the Empire State Building was they were gonna get hurt.

I logged onto Wrangler Forum and read Dan65's post.

Thanks man. Thanks to Dans65 from this Navy Veteran NYPD cop. Thank you for your appreciation. I raise a glass to you. Made me forget about my numb feet.

Started as NYPD, then transferred to FDNY...after all NYC has been through in the past, it's still the best job in the world. A big thanks to all those who have served in our Armed Forces and keep us safe here at home.

Here we go again with the cop bashing. Us cops own Jeeps too and we are on this forum. My doors are off, my fenders are huge, I have no side mirrors. Should I write myself up? Please...we (NYPD) have better things to do then worry about minor Jeep equipment violations, or bust up parties.

Lol please talk to some of your friends in our smaller towns who do not have better things to do! I'm actually friends with a lot of cops. It's all in good fun but yeah nypd is a lot different then some of those small municipalities who love busting people's chops for a tire sticking out an inch and a half... Much respect to you! 9-11-2001 Never forget! I'm a member of the New York/ New Jersey Dock Builders and Piledrivers Local 1456
