police officer. I was called out the other day which was pretty funny. Traffic light, im starring the jeep next to me up and down left to right, the driver looks at me and smiles and goes, "bet you own a jeep." made me laugh!

Good luck dude. That's what I did when I was in and loved it. Depending on your unit, you may or may not do LE. This was almost 12 years ago now, but when I went through tech school, most of the training had to do with weapons safety and base security. We spent a minimal amount of time doing any law enforcement. Most of that training was done at the unit level.

My reserve unit was tasked mainly with doing security. That turned out pretty well because all of the missions we were tasked with after 9/11 were generally base security missions. It was kind of a waste though as roughly half the guys on our deployable roster were civilian cops.

I plan on just doing my four years and going on to civilian Leo. Hopefully at the state or federal level eventually.

This may be dumb to say, but a few years back when I was a lot more careless, a buddy and I were offroad in a Dodge Ram. A cop had a little private house out there with an alternate access road. Anyway, he chased us through the woods, and over some stuff we weren't even sure the ram would get over. We eventually lost him, but that crown vic shocked the HELL out of us.

There was a guy who took a vic through Moab. Now my local cop (who I hang out with) asked me if he chased me if he would catch me I told him no and if he wants to try it right now let's go

Fairly new to the forum, and just decided to spend a couple hours reading old posts. This one caught my eye, and is interesting. Can't really come up with a standard profile for Jeep owners from what I see as to occupations - maybe that's one of the beauties of a Jeep...appeals to EVERYONE no matter what you do.

Oh yes, I own an RV & Self Storage biz - retired from 30 years in Metrology.
