US Army light wheel mechanic.

and as for wbret1027's questions.
some humvees have winches it all depends on the model and what its used for.
most humvees can pull each other out but if its real bad we call in a wrecker. pretty badass if i do say so. look up a HEMETT wrecker.
and what we use all depends on the situation. chains, cable winches, tug strap plus it also depends on what moron is behind the wheel of the recovery rig.

the pictures that i put up are of an MRAP (the big one) and an MATV the one that looks like a hummvee on steroids, which is what it is, we have gotten 2 of them stuck, when the do get stuck, it is bad, we had to get a bulldozer to come out and pull us out. the both weigh between 33,000 and 37,000 lbs so it takes alot just to pull them.

Nobody is hiring around here, and since the military is the only job around, I make money by recruiting people in the National Guard through G-RAP (Guard Recruiting Assistance Program)

$2500 a recruit is pretty sweet, but the pickins are slim right now sooooo I'm volunteering for a deployment to Afghanistan.
