If you use a soft top in the winter ...

What do you do about frost/ice in the rear window. You can't scrape it, so do you just live with it? I just put on a Trektop and am thinking about selling my hardtop. But, we get frost in the morning a lot...

^This. The heater is like a blast furnace. It will melt in no time. Until it does, use your mirrors.

I have a factory Freedom Top. (2dr 2012 JK)

OK, thanks for the tips - I was guessing that any attempt to remove ice would destroy the window.

I ran a soft top for years on my 98 TJ and never had an issue. Like other said above me, the heater works great and usually the ice is gone after 5 mins or so.

Going back to my Maryland days on this one......... throw a big beach towel over the back window and over the uppers. Walk out, pull off the towels and you have no ice or frost.

If its about 30 out, instead of using the defroster while im warming the jeep up, i scape the windshield (if needed) and put the heat on max, point the 2 middle vents toward the back and let the heat do its thing.

Works like a charm!
