Im pissed about these lights!

i have been planning on buying some KC LIGHTS for my Jeep for a while but i never really had 150$ to blow on lights.

but last night i saw this ad on ebay 2 KC DAYLIGHTER STYLE 150W FOG/DRIVING LIGHTS/JEEP : eBay Motors (item 390162597064 end time Mar-04-10 10:15:15 PST)

and i bought them not realizing to i looked at more of the guys ads that these arent KC lights they are KC "style" lights.........

does anyone know anything about these lights? like if they are any good? or did i just waste my money?

If that's them, then based on the feedback I'd say most people are pretty happy, at least when they first get them.
I had KC Daylighters in the past and wasn't impressed. If that's them, then the price you paid is more appropriate to what they're actually worth, IMO.

yeah thats the main reason i jumped on these when i saw them. i always thought that 140 for KC Daylighter was a little pricey.

Had a set and they rusted immediately. Hardware was crap. Immediately pulled them off and went to Hella's.

That is the reason I quit looking on e bay. Between the chineese knock offs and impersonations no one will admit what the items really are. Some of the descriptions are 180 degrees off. Then they add ten or so for placing the item in a box and inflate the shipping costs. No thanks.

My Daylighters rusted quickly too, so feel good for spending $55 and not 3x that amount.

I also switched to Hella's.

Yea, me too, I stopped buying off ebay 5 years ago, for the same reasons, plus I had several overcharge and wrong billings from paypal, so I quit

Ya lays yer money and ya takes yer chances, I''ll stick with well known commericial mfg's !!

Depends on who you ask I guess. I like them better. I had rust issues and bulb burn out issues w/ my Daylighters. Keep in mind, the ones I had were like spotlights (ie, too bright for road use w/ other traffic) and I switched to Hella fogs which I use all the time and love. Hella also makes a driving light with similar construction.

I went with the Hella 500 FF 55 watts. Plenty of light, no rust, no burn out yet, no leaks. Very satisfied.

Would it be wrong to put KC Smiley covers over Hella lights? I really like the covers, but given the poor reviews of the products I'm thinking Hella FTW....

Under 60 bucks . . . and they come with an extra set of bulbs . . . doesn't sound like a bad deal to me . . . I've got some of the ProComp 130 watt light's that look pretty much the same as these and they've held up fine for a couple of years now. The 130 bulbs are super bright, but burnt out after a bit . . . I replaced them with 100 watt bulbs that I found at the local autoparts store and they are still really bright and have lasted for a while. Personally, I wouldn't do it again for a couple of reasons . . . first, I like the look of the lights, but hate the plastic covers that came with mine . . . just looks cheap . . . got a 135 buck ticket for not having covers on the lights though (even though they were off) . . . second, these things are so bright, you'd never want to use them on-road and even off-road if anyone is in front of you, they'll be bitching at you on the CB to turn them damn things off. But if you do a lot of night time off-roading and are usually the one in front, you'll probably like them as they do put out a lot of light.
