What's the deal with the horn going off when you try to get in the jeep? Ruined my coyote hunting efforts today. Have only had this Jeep for 1 month now and this was a first. Owners manual doesn't really show much.
Is they're a way to turn it completely off?
2014 jkur.
Thanks

There should be a setting to disable the horn when unlocking the doors, although I thought it only sounded when locking them. We have ours turned off. Anyway, it should be in the EVIC (Electronic Vehicle Information Center). Toggle through all the options until you see something about the door locks.

My 2014 JKUR definitely does NOT honk when unlocking. Only when locking and remote starting.

The default setting is to have the horn honk when the door lock but you can disable it. You may have opened the door when it was activated.

This is more of an alarm type honk. You can't get it to go of either. Doesn't matter of the door Has been locked or not. When someone opens a door it let's out one long continuous honk.

if all else fails you could probably add a toggle switch into the wire going to the horn itself so you could disable it when you were out hunting yet still have it when you were not

I think I'm going to unhook the battery and see if there was a malfunction in the alarm system.

Are you unlocking the door the same way you lock it? I *think* if you lock it with the remote and then unlock it with the key it triggers the alarm.

Hasn't seen to matter. There isn't any consistencies in when it goes off. Sometimes it's when I unlock it with the fob

remove the horn fuse?

The horn shouldn't continously honk when a door is opened.
So something is messed up

Anyone else? Called the guy at the dealership on his cell and he didn't know either. He's quite the jeep guy himself.
Frustrating
