Welcome!

And sure it is. It's whatever works best for you. It is your jeep after all. My family has 2 of them and I have a 2 door stick. Get whatever you would drive the most and like the most.

Socially acceptable? I'm not sure what that means......

But, there are a few on this forum who have the opinion that "REAL" Jeeps are two-doors, short wheel-base, and with manual tranny. My father called his CJ5 a "real Jeep", and all of his Wranglers were posers!

That said, I absolutely LOVE my Unlimited with automatic, and I'd never choose otherwise (and I happen to own that CJ5 "real Jeep"!!!).

A lot of impressive offroading is done with Unlimited automatics, so who cares what anybody else thinks!!!

There are guys who have reported removing their hard tops solo. In fact, that would be rather easy with any of the commercial or homemade hoist-type systems.

My wife and I can remove my hard top with no problems, and she's petite. I love the hard top.

Hey bud;

Not true. I've removed my hard top on my own. It's definitely a task--- but it's doable. I'm fixing to get a soft top myself. It's nice to have the added protection from the elements with a hard top. And it also gives an added security feature if you're stowing groceries or any other valuables in your rig for a short amount of time.

"JK" is a designation for the Jeep models, '07 to current. "U" means Unlimited, which means 4-door.

Its your jeep do what you want. A 4 door auto is way more socially acceptable than spilling rust all over the road like I'm always doing!

NOPE not acceptable--

That is if you belong to a club that uses only sticks, otherwise--get the one you're comfy with-

There's no drawbaqcks to the auto !!

According to some people driving an automatic can cause lowered testosterone levels.

If you're male, please consult your physician.

Hopin' to be in a new Rubicon Unlimited (manual) very soon, mainly because of the price difference.

For me personally, I need the extra space, not to mention, I just really dig the look of a lifted and modded-up Unlimited.

I can't wait to get it!
