its 1:30am.... oops

Well its about 1:30am rightnow. about close to an hour ago i awoke to the beautiful sound of thunder. made me smile abit. then i rememberd i only had the bakini top on the yj. and keep in mind my yj isnt set up yet for having the interior soaked, i still drive it to work in the morning. So i rushed outside and started taking the top off and putting on the fully enclosed soft top. On a good day it takes me around 15 min. yeah not tonight. Pooring rain, so hard standing there im having trouble seeing the fence. 45 min later the top is on, the interior along with myself are completely drenched with about an inch of standing water in the floor board... i think im going to need a towel to sit on on the way to work in the morning

Join the club, dude. This is why I take my carpet out during the summer. If I'm caught in a sudden downpour I don't have to worry about anything but the seats. (towels are convenient to carry with BTW)

well having some kind of top on at all times does help, even a small bakini top keeps the middle of the dash from getting soaked, but yes i do agree, ive been meaning to take out the carpet and hurculine the floorboard but was thinking about doing it thursday since friday im heading down to the beach, but it looks like it might happen tonight... good bye carpet

Just took the carpet out of mine yesterday. Put a plastic bag over the steering wheel and radio, plus I took the faceplate off the radio. I got tired of putting up and down my fragile top. I'll be lining the tub and undercoating the chasis about Sept. or so.

Where I'm at, North West houston, it's been raining since 7:00 or so. Hopefully it hits down south by Pearland as well. I'm tired of seeing the warning signs saying "Extreme Fire Hazard".

OMG I AM finally glad it rained. Stage 2 water restrictions really suck here in San Antonio. Started here around 2 last night and kept raining up until 7. Now if it would just rain some more I'd gladly keep the top up on the Jeep.

To the OP, I also had my top down, but it was parked in the garage so I avoided a soggy Jeep. Hope everything dries out and everything's fine.

yeah i know its been about 2 years for me now too since Ive been down there, so ill let you know if anythings changed, hopefully my favorite little mom and pop hole in the wall bar on the beach is still there, best place to kick back with a cold one and watch the waves.

Shell- what part of San Antonio are you in? we've got some great wheeling spots in San macros, little water to play in, got some nice climbing spots too. we go play about every other weekend. if interested let me know and ill keep you up to date next time were going. San Antonio isn't but 45 min to San macros.

I live on the southeast side of SA. I've been itching to use my 4WD. I've been just been getting used to driving the Jeep, haven't gone off-road yet. I keep eyeing this spot that they just recently cleared the trees away from and looks like they're getting ready to pave. Now if I can just talk the hubby into letting me take it off-road. Is it sad that I keep eyeing the big rocks in my front flower bed?

haha well give them a try see how she does, well when yall are ready to test that 4x4 let us know. im running a stock 94 yj no lift medium alterains, only really important mods is my snorkel. my buddy's in a 99tj 2 inch lift with mud terrains. i can go where ever he goes and climb what ever he can. so its not overly difficult. its a great place for someone to learn their 4x4 and practice crawling rocks. its a nice mostly dried up river bed. will some spots to get wet and see how deep you can go. ive got pictures on my fb if you want to check them out and see the place. look my up on fb firstresponder01@hotmail.com is my email. i dont know the direct link to my profile.

Heck a couple of 35 gallon garbage bags will do both front seats.
Or the driver's seat and steering column. Beats a wet seat and fried SIR coil.

Fold em up and toss em in the console when done.

Of course only works when "Someone " remembers to put them on.

I had a similar experience last night...except I was still awake since I had just gotten home from work....and instead of trying to change/fix the top I just backed it into the garage for the night! Dry as a bone this morning!
