JD's Axle swap

started jdhallisey's axle swap, pretty sweet swap. tj rubicon d44's 5.13 gears, front warn hub conversion, rear disc brake upgrade, cj or something, i'll let him tell that one, 5x5.5 alloy shafts, and compressor and wiring included.

out with the old

in with the new

here's how it sits in my driveway waiting for wheel adapters

the front housing is tweeked, the rubi was totalled. so the gears, locker, and hubs and all are getting swapped from the tweeked axle to a new housing, arriving later this week.

I like it! Thanks again dave for being a great sport in helping me do this. He gets first cracks at locking it up and wheeling after I do one line first.

Sorry for got to mention the brakes are a big brake upgrade. They are from a CJ-8 I believe. So now I have the big brake kit on a 4. The adapters should be in tm and I will get to drive it tm again. Issue is with the front housing. Ordering issues so maybe it will show up weds or thursday morning so I can have it ready by friday to wheel. Maybe have to go down friday nite then wheel sat and sun if it goes bad. Which it normally does for me. took roughly an hour to get the old out drink some coffee eat some donuts. Hour to put the new in doing the samething. 45 mins to attach one fitting to the brake line

Why do I have the feeling somebody is gonna be asking me to borrow the f-150 and the trailer too. Dave We both know the axle will show up next week sometime. No worries I am screwed for this weekend. just trying to find somebody to ride with now.
