Jeep as a first vehicle?

I am torn between a jeep and a truck as my first vehicle. It's about 50/50 because i can't decide on one. What are the pros of a jeep as a first vehicle?

I would never let my 16 year old have a jeep for a first vehicle. Especially a lifted one

Why not? Honestly so long as they're *competent* drivers already, I don't see a problem with having Jeeps (even modded ones) as a first vehicle.

I would have no problem with a Jeep as a first vehicle. The only issues to consider... it rides like a Jeep, but a 4 door much better than a 2; they can develop leaks with the softtop/hardtop so be prepared; high cost of fuel due to low mpg.

Now the pro's... too many to list LOL

My first vehicle was a Jeep. It was a 98 or 99 model. I liked it very much, but my dad sold it after I got my SUV since no one ever drove it. I sure did miss that thing, but I finally found another that I love. Of course, I didn't attempt to do anything stupid when I was first driving.
