Jeep as Main Vehicle?

Kind of curious to know, how many of you have your Jeep as your main/only car, and how many of you have it as your second/toy car?

For those of you who have a jeep as a main car, do you ever worry about it getting damaged? Repairs are usually kind of easy to get done, but can be expensive if you aren't making a whole lot

My jeep is my only car and Im rather young (in college), so obviously I'm worried about keeping it in good condition in case I want to sell it within the next 10 years, but I also really love going off road. It's hard to bulk up the courage to take it to the trails in case paint chips and Im screwed. I love my jeep though, and I can't see myself driving anything but a jeep, so if I ever do sell it, it'd be to get a new one just like it

I am on my 5th Jeep, 4th Wrangler\CJ. All were daily drivers\only vehicle. Very few have been hard core off road. The 95 YJ saw some brutal winter action with huge drifts and nasty cold. It was a champ. Only time it got stuck the Ex was driving. I got in it, popped her into 4hi and drove out of the drift she was in. Unfortunately, she left it in 4hi well into spring and fried the front end on the freeway. Not too bright, but then, she did marry me.

My jeep is my only running vehicle right now and ive been daily driving it for over a year now, I have a car that i haven't bothered fixing (maybe one day) i used to worry about beating it up, but I've put a lot of work into making sure that doesn't happen also I've never really seen paint chip from wheeling, just superficial surface scratches that can easily be buffed out.

My jeep is my only car, i'm not too worried about anything happening, it is a 95 so not a newer jeep but yeah you'll be surprised how well new car paint holds up sometimes. i went up to the mountains with my brother in his chevy colorado, went for like 3 or 4 miles with dried, stiff brush scraping each side the entire time and didnt make a scratch.

Jeeps my main vehical, wife drives a 02 Accord. My only worries are engine/tranny dying. But i dont worry to much about that i keep it well maintained and let it out to play up in the mountains, i make decent money and anything left over after family goes into my jeep fund for upgrades and nick knacks. I would never consider buying anything other than a wrangler for myself that is i dont care how bad gas prices get (95/2.5/5 speed/31" tires)

Contrary to what you read here, most Jeep owners rarely take their vehicles through very strenuous conditions.

I use my Jeep as my main source of transportation, and YES, I do worry about it being damaged, but what are ya gonna do, trailer it around town in a bubble? Unfortunately, shit happens.

For the record, when I go to work, I do prefer to take my second car, but that one rarely runs.

There is almost nothing that can't be fixed if damaged. All you can do is drive it,have fun and let the chips fall where they may. Even if you have it as a second or third car, Mother Nature is always working against you too. You are going to get rock chips, maybe some door dings and the deadly bird droppings on it so don't become too overly concerned about it.

I will trade you a paint chip any day of the for the stuff that has happened to my jeep off road. The good news, even with a busted driveshaft, blown u-joints, busted axle shaft, bad fuel pump busted tie rod and countless other issues I always drove the jeep home.

Thus, get it out there go on a basic trail and have some fun.

The Jeep is my main vehicle. I do have a Blazer that barely gets driven, but it's there if I need. Chips in the paint and scratches don't bother me. I'm happy as long as the vehicle is mechanically sound.

Though I get off-road quite a bit, I don't do what would be considered hard-core 4-wheeling.

The Jeep is my main ride, but I'm retired and only put about 10k per year on it. Totally stock, and it's going to stay that way. Back when I was working, I used to put more like 40K on a Toyota; I'd never have used a Jeep for that kind of mileage. I may go off onto a forest road every once in a while, but I don't plan to do any serious 4-wheeling.

Right now, my LJ is my only drivable vehicle. My scout is supposed to come out of restoration soon, and then I'll be driving the Scout most of the time until I can afford to do the 30k maintenance on the LJ. Going to be very expensive! I'm thinking about asking someone to help me with this to save some money.

My TJ is my only vehicle. I drive it every chance i get and would never refer to it as a car. Yes i worry about breaking things but that comes with life, something, somewhere, sometime is going to break. Its just a fact.

Tj is my daily driver and I put a min 90 miles a day on it commuting to work and back. I've lightly rolled it, broke things on the trail and many others.. Sick days and vacation are for fixin it so I can get to work, I keep a lot of spare parts and buy vital things in double. Jeep life is about preparation. Remember, its not if you break it, it's when and how fast you can reassemble. :-D

My TJ is my daily driver. I am fairly easy on it, but every once in a while I seriously push my luck. How else would I justify owning it? I am fairly handy with a wrench, so I don't worry TOO bad about being broke down.

I bought my Jeep on purpose as my daily. I have a Z06 and an SRT 10 and I got tired of worry about being hit. I don't worry too much about the Jeep. I have been hit 3 times while I was at a complete stop in the last 6 months. No significant damage....but upgrading from an 09 Sahara to a 13 Rubicon and I may get some aftermarket metal bumpers this time, plus a big a$$ trailer hitch!!

I drive my '97 TJ with 145k miles on it everyday. 50 mile round trip commute. I wheel it some too. I just don't get too aggressive on the trails. Take care of them and they'll last a long time. My son's daily driver is a 91 YJ with about 175k on it. He wheels with me.

My 87 is my daily driver, but we do have the wifes cherokee. I do wheel sometimes, and my YJ being my daily driver I am a little more cautious than if it was just a toy, but if it breaks then there is the cherokee. My wife is a stay at home mom, so that helps. I am driving the cherokee now actually, because I am building the engine for the YJ.

Most often, the wife and I travel together for work in her car but at least 2 days a week, I bring the Jeep to work.

My Jeep is used mostly for town use but I am an avid hunter and fisherman so I want something that will take me where I want to go. I do go off road but not like some folks do.

daily driver

I just bought my wrangler sport 2 weeks ago as a daily driver to replace my old bmw from college.

I'm not concerned about breaking things and at least now I can actually fix most things instead of having my teeth pulled at the bmw shops .
