Hello, my jeep has been sitting in my driveway for months. ive been tweaking on it here and there.
i have a 1992 jeep cherokee country 4.0L straight 6 4WD
i was driving it home after changing the oil and i noticed it was sputtering, then it died few minutes later. ended up towing it home. messed with it check everything all the fuses, tested the coil. a friend and i were messing with it one day, banging on some stuff, we ended up unplugging the pickup coil plug and we heard a weird click. then it ended up starting.
anyways it ran for a 2 days and died again, its been sitting even since.
i have replaced the crankshaft position sensor brand new, replaced the ignition coil, replaced the pickup coil. replaced the battery.
for a while it didnt have spark then i replaced the pickup coil and it gave a lil spark. one other thing it did was in the relay box it would make a constant ticking noise when the key was turned on accessory. i ended up switching the relays and the noise stopped the ticking is coming from the auto shutdown and fuel pump relay there connected underneath the box with a split wire.
ive been so irritated with this, ive read forums talked with mechanics, electricians. i am thinking its a electrical problem. any ideas?''
